The one who leaves home, works abroad, saves for years — and returns with a single dream: a home in Kerala. Often with more trust than the system has earned.

I was no different. Hopeful. Green. Unprepared for what lay beneath the surface. What followed was a crash-course in Kerala construction — contractors, structural clarity fights, quality control nightmares, delays, and the lessons NRIs usually learn the hard way.

Why this site exists

Arakillam is not theory.
It is a record of real construction experiences, verified reader stories, and lessons learned directly on construction site — from rebar checks and concrete quality to contracts, communication, and the psychology behind negotiations.

Everything here is written so the next NRI can build smarter, safer, and with fewer surprises than I had.
