Share Your Story – Help Others Avoid the Same Mistakes

This slot is reserved for the first real reader case study.

Instead of rushing a half-written story, we’d rather use this page to invite your experience.
If you’ve had a difficult or eye-opening experience with:

  • a contractor
  • a builder
  • an architect
  • a plumber, electrician, or interior “team”

…your story can help other NRIs and Kerala homeowners avoid the same trap.

You can send your story in two ways:

  1. Email (written) – write your story in your own words
  2. Email with voice recording – just speak into your phone, attach the audio file, and send

📩 Send your story to email: [email protected]

What to include in your story

To keep things fair, specific, and useful, please include as many of the following details as you are comfortable sharing:

1. Professional details

  • Name of the professional
  • Location (place, city)
  • Name of the firm / company (if available)
  • Their role:
    • contractor
    • builder
    • architect
    • structural consultant
    • plumber / electrician
    • interior team
    • other (please specify)

2. Type of work involved

What were they responsible for?

  • structural work (footings, columns, beams, slabs)
  • entire building (turnkey)
  • interiors
  • plumbing
  • electrical
  • waterproofing
  • repair/renovation
  • other (briefly describe)

3. Agreement details

  • Was there a written agreement?
  • Was it per square foot, itemized, or lump sum?
  • Were payments linked to stages (slab, masonry, plastering, etc.) or just time-based?
  • If possible, attach a copy of the agreement (you may blur/black out personal information like exact address or account numbers).

4. What went wrong (the main issue)

Describe:

  • what you expected
  • what actually happened
  • key dates or stages (for example: “problems started after first slab”, “after interiors began”, etc.)
  • important conversations or promises that were broken
  • any photos or screenshots that help explain the issue
    • site photos
    • chat screenshots
    • bill copies

You don’t need perfect language.
Just be honest and specific.

  • Did you take any legal action?
  • Is a case in progress or completed?
  • Any verdict or settlement so far?
  • Are there any restrictions on what you can publicly share?
(For example: if there is a gag order, NDA, or court instruction.)

If you are unsure what can be shared, mention that in your email.
Nothing will be published blindly.

6. Your details (for verification only)

To keep these stories credible and fair, I will need real people behind them, even if they are published as Anonymous.

Please include:

  • your full name
  • your phone/WhatsApp number
  • your email
  • whether you are:
    • NRI
    • resident in Kerala
    • or currently abroad

These details are for verification only and will not be published without your explicit consent.

How your story will be used

  • Your story may be edited for length and clarity, but not to change meaning.
  • Names of professionals and firms may be included where appropriate and legally safe.
  • If requested, your name can be kept fully anonymous (e.g., “Anonymous NRI, Trivandrum”).
  • The goal is not defamation. The goal is education and awareness for others in the same situation.

Prefer talking over writing?

If you’re more comfortable speaking than typing:

  1. Open your phone’s voice recorder app
  2. Record your story (even 5–15 minutes is fine)
  3. Attach the audio file (.m4a, .mp3, .wav, etc.) to an email
  4. Send it to: [email protected]

You can speak in English or Malayalam.
We can transcribe, anonymize if needed, and structure it into a readable case study.

If you’re reading this and thinking,

“I wish I had known this before I started…”

…then your experience is exactly what belongs here.

It might be uncomfortable to revisit.
But it may save someone else from losing their money, time, and peace in the same way.
